Conference Overview

The 27th Annual New York State Cybersecurity Conference and 19th Annual Symposium on Information Assurance (ASIA) will be held June 3-4, 2025. 

Hosted by the New York State Office of Information Technology Services, the University at Albany School of Business, and The New York State Forum, Inc., the event will attract more than 1000 people to the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, NY.

Call for Presentations

Presentations and training proposals are now being accepted.

Submission Deadline: March 28, 2025

Conference Objectives 

Share your experience and knowledge with this year's attendees by submitting a presentation and/or training proposal. 

  • Increase overall cybersecurity awareness across a wide community of stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
  • Provide training and education that enhances technical knowledge and skills across that community.
  • Align with the NYS Homeland Security Strategic Plan to enhance cybersecurity capabilities.

 

Audience

Last year’s conference drew more than 1,600 attendees. Attendees are employees from all government levels, academia, businesses, not-for-profit organizations and New York residents, including:

Proposal Guidelines

Proposals will be accepted for:

  • Individual or team presentations.
  • Panel discussions; a panel may be organized and submitted as a group by a panel coordinator, or an individual may submit his/her particular viewpoint to become part of a panel.
  • Training sessions featuring real-world scenarios and advanced techniques.

Guidelines for presentations are as follows:

  • Only product neutral presentations that are related to cybersecurity will be considered.
  • More than one proposal may be submitted for consideration.
  • Breakout sessions will run 50 minutes, including 10 minutes for Q &A, on June 3 and 4.
  • Training sessions will be a half day (3 hours) or a full day (5-6 hours) on June 5.
  • Presentation and training selections will be made based upon desired topics, flow of content, educational value and understanding of the content.
  • All selected content will be published in Conference publications and online.
  • Conference organizers will set the day and time for each presentation/training session, in order to optimize the sequencing and flow of content and tracks.
  • The NYS ITS CISO reserves the right to decline a submission for the 2025 Conference.

Registration for the conference will be available closer to the event date.

Cost to Attend

  • Free to government and public sector employees, as well as public K-higher education and students*
  • $250 for private sector employees and other non-governmental attendees
  • $75 for not-for-profit employees

A group discount of 20% for 5 or more employees from the same organization is available. Groups must be registered with a single payment to qualify for the discount.

Driving Directions from the North:

(Directions from Clifton Park, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Plattsburgh, etc.)

Take I-87 South (The Northway) to Exit 7.

Merge into NY-7 East toward Troy/Cohoes.

Merge onto I-787 South toward Albany and follow this road approximately 7.5 miles.

Take Exit 3A for the Empire State Plaza.

Driving Directions from the South

(Directions from NYC, Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Long Island, etc.)

  1. Take I-87 North (NY State Thruway) to Exit 23.
  2. Merge onto I-787 North toward downtown Albany/Rensselaer/Troy.
  3. Take Exit 3 for the Empire State Plaza.

Driving Directions from the East

(Directions from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, etc.)

  1. Take I-90 West (Mass Turnpike) to the Albany exit.
  2. Continue on I-90 West to I-787.
  3. Merge onto I-787 South toward Albany/Rensselaer.
  4. Take Exit 3A for the Empire State Plaza.

Driving Directions from the West

(Directions from Schenectady, Amsterdam, Binghamton, Buffalo, etc.)

  1. Take I-90 East (NY State Thruway) to Exit 24 (Albany).
  2. Continue on I-90 East to I-787.
  3. Merge onto I-787 South toward Albany/Rensselaer.
  4. Take Exit 3A for the Empire State Plaza.

 

Parking

The V-Lot at the Empire State Plaza may be full unless you have a special use pass or Handicap parking placard. The New York State Cybersecurity Conference does not provide parking placards or free parking for the event.

The Academic Symposium on Information Assurance (ASIA) is held in conjunction with the NYS Cybersecurity Conference.
