A vulnerability has been discovered in Adobe Flash Player that could allow remote code execution. Adobe Flash Player is a widely distributed multimedia and application player used to enhance the user experience when visiting web pages or reading email messages. Successful exploitation could result in an attacker gaining the same privileges as the logged on user. Depending on the privileges associated with the user, an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user access.

Adobe Flash Player is prone to a remote buffer overflow vulnerability. This vulnerability exists in the Pixel Bender component of Adobe Flash. The vulnerability may be exploited in a way that could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, in the context of the current user, within Adobe Flash. Exploitation can occur if a user visits a specially crafted website or opens a specially crafted Flash file. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in an attacker gaining the same privileges as the logged on user. Depending on the privileges associated with the user, an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user access.
- Install the updates provided by Adobe immediately after appropriate testing.
- Run all software as a non-privileged user (one without administrative privileges) to diminish the effects of a successful attack.
- Remind users not to visit un-trusted websites or follow links provided by unknown or un-trusted sources.
- Remind users not to open email attachments from unknown users or suspicious emails from trusted sources.
